About Me

Hey Girl Hey,

If you don't already know my name is Nekia Asberry also known as Kia The Diva. Diva is an acronym that stands for Dignity, Integrity, Virtue, and Accountability. I am a Self-Love and Relationship Coach located in the Greater Hartford Area. My journey towards becoming a coach started in 2019. I graduated from CCSU with my bachelor’s in Criminology and minor in Strategic Communications. I had everything going for myself except I was not happy. I prayed and ultimately made the hard decision to end a 10-year friendship encompassing a 6-year relationship. This decision stripped me of everything I thought was a part of my identity and worth. This caused me to experience anxiety and a mental breakdown. After weeks of therapy and self-reflection I decided to address my childhood traumas and deeply examine the woman that I am showing up as. I began to intentionally journal and read personal development books that taught me about myself such as “Iyanla Vanzant In the Meantime”. I soon recognized that I am drawn to people that need healing in some way shape or form because I needed it myself. I also learned that I attracted people that mirrored my unhealed trauma. This pushed me to work towards healing myself even more. During the pandemic of 2020 I made the choice to isolate and focus on myself. I invested in my mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health ultimately started loving myself unconditionally. Fast forward to 2022 I decided to become a Certified Self- Love Relationship Coach.

My personality makes it easy for me to help others because they naturally gravitate to me. I have the ability to listen objectively as well as understand empathetically. With years of being disciplined throughout college, I gained amazing critical thinking skills allowing me to make great decisions and problem solve. I developed discernment to walk in my truth and lead by example in order to help other black and brown millennial women do the same. I am patient, kind, empowering and intuitive. I consider myself a role model for all black and brown women. We as women are in control of our life experiences and relationships. I intend to show women that having unhealthy relationships starts from within. When we decide to do the inner work necessary to heal ourselves and examine who we truly are, is when we can cultivate healthy relationships with others. I truly believe healthy relationships are necessary and we all deserve them. The most important relationship with self.
